Nowadays, a dual monitor setup has become very common. But why stop at two displays? I can say from experience: having multiple monitors (and I’m speaking three, four, five or even six) is just … extraordinary, and the complete need of your life.

But before you go, you want to give some forethought to your many monitoring plans. Before you set up three or more monitors in this guide, you have to take into consideration all your issues.

Check your graphics card (s)

Before you run out and buy a bunch of additional monitors, check to see if your computer is physically capable of handling all those graphics skills.

First, look at your PC: How many graphics port (DVI, HDMI, display and VGA) do you see?

⇒ You need to enter your PC’s BIOS. Go to Configuration > Video > Integrated graphics device and set it to “Always enable.”

You need a new generation motherboard with your graphics card, only some older Nvidia cards can not run two monitors in multiple ports, even if there are two ports.

The best way to identify whether your graphics card supports multiple monitors is to find the name of your card (Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters) and find the set up on Google to run it in your system.

If your graphics card supports and there is enough port for it – the monitor you want to set up is excellent. But if not, you will need to buy additional graphics cards to get the multi-monitor support you are looking for.

If you have purchased only graphics card for multiple monitors, it is best to get the same (or at least the same product family) as your current graphics card, so that you can connect with them using SLI (Nvidia). Or CrossFire (AMD).

SLIs and CrossFireups will help your graphics cards to operate smoothly and they will increase the overall graphics performance of your PC so that you can do fun games without diminishing frame rates like size items in size-monitor mode. With multiple connected graphics cards, you get better performance with multiple connected graphics cards. And, when you can run technically Nvidia and AMD cards side by side … it’s more problem than price and I do not recommend it.

Once you figure out your graphics card situation, it’s time for the fun part: obtaining extra monitors. In general, the monitors were fairly cheap for these days.
